Work Party Update
The summer work parties are now well under way but we would like to see more volunteers up at the club to help out!
As you can see the first priority was to investigate and repair the sunken drain at the bottom of the slope which has resulted in excessive wear of the matting in places and large puddles forming.
After inspection it was decided to clear and replace the existing drain. The new materials will be delivered this week so there will be plenty of work to rebuild the drain, replace the rubber strips and restore and repair the matting.
There are many other jobs that need to be carried out over the summer including:
- Replace matting at the bottom of exit 3
- Replace worn matting on the sides of the slope
- Overhaul misting system to make it more effecient & resiliant
- Grass cutting
- Fence painting
- Weeding etc…
The condition of our slope is the envy of all other dry ski slopes but this is only possible because of the continuous maintenance program that we run every summer. This progam relies on our members volunteering their time to help with all of these jobs. We can teach anyone who is willing to help how to replace the mats and there are many other jobs that don’t require any specialist skills. So all are welcome!
Maintenance sessions will run on Tuesday evenings from 6 pm until 9 pm and on Sunday mornings from 10 am until 2 pm and any time you can spare between these hours would be much appreciated.
As always with volunteering at the club, for every 2 hours work we will give you a voucher for a free lesson or race coaching session.
We hope to see you there!
