Pendle ski club is a member owned club that has been established since 1967. Over this time the main slope has developed to a length of 170m with 160m falling gradient and in addition there is a large beginners training slope.
The clubhouse enjoys panoramic views over the Ribble Valley and Pendle area and offers ski rental, fitting and a range of snacks and confectionary.
Pendle is recognised as one of the UK’s premier ski coaching and racing clubs and is suitable for skiers of all abilities. The slopes are open from October to Easter with group bookings available for schools and races during the summer and provides an excellent family friendly facility. Guests can come on a pay as you go basis or can join the club and receive discounted fees.
Recreational skiers and snowboarders
Pendle can help you learn how to ski or brush up skills prior to a holiday. Lessons are provided to all levels and all instruction and tuition is carried out by qualified Snowsport UK and BASI Instructors. Children’s lessons are very popular and we welcome children of all ages and abilities.
Pendle offers intermediate and advanced lessons as well as individual coaching. We are affiliated to Snowsport England and as such are authorised to conduct the British Alpine Awards, Adult Performance Tests and Badges.
Races and club events
Pendle hosts many National and Regional Events and is also the venue for English Schools Races. See our racing section for a list of upcoming events and club success stories.
Competitive Skiers
David Ryding, British Ski champion who currently competes against the worlds best started at Pendle and regularly comes to the club to support the youngster coming through. Race training is a natural progression for anyone in the club who reaches a certain standard of skiing and is applicable for any age.
Pendle has some of the UK’s premier race coaches in Carl Ryding, Colin Tee, Lyndsay Allen and Mark Orrell and people travel from as far as South Wales, Hull and the Cumbria to train here.
